I am a foreigner. I came from Mexico about 24 years ago. I was bullied in my own country because I was “too white”. They always made fun of me joking about my parents being potato color like me. I came to the states and I am not “white enough” LOL… I do have to say I have been discriminated by black folks! But for me, maybe because I grew a rough skin, it does not affect whom I am. I respect everyone as if they are part of my family. Even if I don’t know them, for me the skin color has no influence. Is the way people act I don’t like. But I don’t hate anyone. I just let them be and I move forward. I am happy with myself. And every person I find in my life is not judged by superficialities like the skin color. There are good people and there are others not so good as well. The good thing is that is a choice we all have. I like peace and love and I am a tree huger. I liked your article. Well written. I am not taking it bad or good. It’s your insightful experience and I learned few things from it. Latinos go thru some stuff like that as well. Sadly. I am hopeful things will change. We are all children of the same god. I believe that.
